Male genital piercings

Specialist care, private setting

Male genital piercings — including the Prince Albert, frenum, frenulum, and ampallang — are among the most technically specific piercings we do. The anatomy varies significantly between individuals, and placement needs to be precisely matched to your specific anatomy to heal correctly and function well long-term.

We offer all common male genital placements. The most common is the Prince Albert — a urethral piercing that exits the glans, typically started at 10–12g with a circular barbell or curved barbell in implant-grade titanium.

All genital piercing appointments are conducted in a private room. Discretion is standard. The consultation covers anatomy suitability, placement options, jewellery selection, and the aftercare protocol before anything else happens.

The process

From consultation to healed

BeforeBooking

Nothing special required

No special preparation is needed. Book as you would any appointment. If you have questions about anatomy suitability, mention them in the booking notes and we can address them at the start of your appointment.

Day 1Appointment

Consultation, marking, piercing

We assess anatomy, discuss placement options, agree on jewellery, mark the position, and get your approval before any needle is involved. The procedure itself takes under a minute. Private room, full draping throughout.

Week 1–4Initial heal

Saline rinse twice daily, rest

Some swelling and tenderness is normal. Urination will feel different — sitting down to urinate is easier during this period. Avoid sexual activity for 4–6 weeks.

Week 6–8Downsize

Jewellery change to shorter bar

The initial jewellery is longer to accommodate swelling. Once swelling resolves, we replace it with a correctly-fitted piece. Come back in for this — it's included in the original price.

Month 3–4Healed

Full remodelling complete

The piercing is stable, fully healed, and you can select decorative jewellery. We can advise on options at this stage.

Aftercare

Straightforward. Consistent.

The Prince Albert is one of the easiest genital piercings to care for because the urethra is self-flushing. Still, following the protocol precisely in the first 4–6 weeks matters.

  • 01
    Saline rinse twice daily
Sterile 0.9% saline (NeilMed Wound Wash). Spray directly, let air dry. No soap on or in the piercing.
  • 02
Urinate normally — sit down if easier
The urine stream will be affected by the jewellery early on. Sitting is more comfortable and avoids mess until it settles.
  • 03
No sexual activity for 4–6 weeks
When you resume, barrier protection is important — a fresh piercing creates a temporary pathway. Standard guidance: use a condom until fully healed.
  • 04
No pools, baths, or hot tubs for 6 weeks
Showers only. Standing water introduces bacteria into an open channel.
  • 05
    Loose, breathable underwear
Tight synthetic underwear creates heat and friction. Cotton boxers or briefs that aren't restrictive are better during initial healing.
  • 06
Return for downsize at 6–8 weeks
Included in the original price. The longer starter bar needs to come out once swelling resolves.
Common questions

Answered honestly

These are the questions we get before every male genital piercing appointment. If yours isn't here, ask at the consultation.

    How much does it cost?

$150 including implant-grade titanium starter jewellery, full consultation, placement, and aftercare briefing. The downsize appointment at 6–8 weeks is also included.

How long does a Prince Albert take to heal?

6–8 weeks for initial healing, 3–4 months for full remodelling. The PA heals faster than most genital piercings because the urethra lining regenerates quickly.

Can I pee normally after the piercing?

Yes — though the stream will be affected for the first few weeks by the jewellery. Most clients find it easiest to sit down to urinate until the initial healing stabilises, usually around 3–4 weeks.

    Does it affect sexual function?

Not once healed. During the initial 4–6 weeks, we recommend avoiding sexual activity. When you resume, use barrier protection — standard recommendation until the piercing is fully healed.

    Is the appointment private?

Yes. All genital piercing appointments are in a private room with full draping throughout. You can bring a support person if you prefer. It's conducted with the same professionalism as any medical procedure.

What if I want something other than a Prince Albert?

We offer other male genital placements including frenum, frenulum, and ampallang. Anatomy determines suitability — come in for a consultation and we'll tell you honestly what will work for your anatomy and what won't.
