Most people are comfortable at six to eight weeks, and fully healed at three to four months.
Most people are comfortable at six to eight weeks and fully healed at three to four months. A Prince Albert is one of the faster healing genital piercings: the lining of the urethra heals quickly compared with other tissue. Other placements take longer, and Tom will tell you which at the look.
Rinse once a day under warm running water and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Nothing else goes on it. Leave the jewellery completely still and do not turn it.
No swimming until it is healed. Pools, hot tubs, rivers and the sea all wait. A shower is fine.
Yes. Sitting down is easiest for the first few weeks, while the stream settles.

Implant-grade titanium, at a heavier thickness than most piercings. Heavier jewellery heals better in this placement and is less prone to migrating or tearing. The thickness is chosen at the look, from your anatomy, and it is not a decision made at the chair.

Talk first, then the piercing
- Book a look. Thirty minutes, in person, with Tom.
- A private room. You talk it through, and Tom checks whether your anatomy suits it.
- You get the price, and nothing is decided on the day.
- If it suits, you book the piercing, and the $30 comes off.
- Is it private?

- Can I bring someone?
- Yes, a support person is welcome in the room.
- What about sex?
- Wait four to six weeks at least, then use barrier protection while it finishes healing.
- How old do I need to be?
- 18 or over.
Is this normal?
Crust that is clear, straw or white-yellow, tenderness for the first week or two, a little redness right around it and some itching as it settles are all healing.
Tell us about thick green or yellow pus rather than crust, heat and swelling that get worse after the first week, redness spreading away from the piercing, pain that is growing rather than easing, or a fever.
If you have a fever, or redness is spreading away from the piercing, see your GP or an after-hours clinic that day and tell them it is a healing piercing. Then let us know.
