Where it sits
The side of the nostril. Placement follows the crease of the nose, and the piece sits flat.
Either side suits. We can mark both so you see them in the mirror first.
Where exactly it sits is decided by your nose. Placement usually follows the crease where the nostril meets the cheek. Too high sits in firmer cartilage and heals harder. Too low is thin tissue, and it narrows what can go in it later. How far it sits from the rim decides whether a ring will one day sit flush or stand away.

A needle, never a gun. Single use, sterile, and put in the bin in front of you. The autoclave is tested weekly, and every piece that goes in is implant-grade.
Any problem with a piercing we did, the look is free.
What goes in it
A flat-back post to start. A ring can go in once it has settled, at or after your downsize.
A flat-back post to start, every time. A ring moves every time you talk, smile or breathe, and that movement pulls at the channel that is trying to form. A flat post sits still. Once it has settled, at or after your downsize, a ring fits the healed channel cleanly.
The post goes in a little long, to leave room for swelling. At your checkup it is swapped for a shorter one that sits flush, and the end you chose stays the same.

What happens at the appointment
Nothing is pierced until you have seen the spot and agreed with it.
First, the tray. You sit at the low table with a mirror in your hand. We look at the nose, find the spot, and you choose the piece if you would like gold. Nothing clinical is out yet.
Then, one needle. Under a minute, and the piece goes in at the same moment.
Before you leave. Aftercare is sorted, and your four-week checkup goes in the book.
Forty-five minutes, one client in the room. Nobody walks in on your visit.
Which side?
Whichever you prefer. No side heals better, and no side carries a traditional meaning here. Some people pick the side that balances piercings they already have, others the side they like in photographs. We can mark both and let you look in the mirror first.
Makeup, skincare and glasses
Keep foundation, primer and skincare off it for the first six weeks. Product wiped across a new piercing is one of the most common reasons a bump turns up.
If you wear glasses, notice where the frames sit. Pressure and rubbing from a frame near the piercing will irritate it.
If you take it out
A fresh nostril piercing closes quickly and may leave nothing behind. One you have worn for years can leave a small indent or a fine scar.
