What Makes Us Different?
Longer Appointment Times
Our appointment times are typically up to 3x longer than the standard piercing appointment time in Auckland.
This allows us the ability to take time in deciding on jewellery and placement along with having an in depth discussion about aftercare and goals for the piercing. So rest assured you will not leave feeling like you have been rushed through and pushed into a decision you didn’t give informed consent for.
Continued Support
We are always here for you, if you have a question concern or issue we will always be there to support you. Your piercing fee includes free piercing check ups to ensure your piercing is always looking and healing it’s best.
Unmatched expertise
Tom’s expertise in aseptic technique is unmatched in New Zealand Piercing with formal training and experience, and Third-Party Validated technique. Ensuring that all piercings are carried out at or above the international industry ideal. Care has been taken to optimise every step of the process for safety and comfort.
Consistent Standards
Something that is relatively common in the industry is “performative” standards. Meaning that they will use reputable safe brands for end-pieces and attachments (the parts you can see) but will compromise on their standards for bases and posts.
At Platinum Point we pride ourselves on never compromising on safety and quality. Safety should come first and then from there we can achieve any aesthetic you’d like. We are proud of all of the brands we use and we love being completely transparent about the source of the jewellery you are buying. All of our pieces of jewellery are made by leading global brands that support safe piercing and verifiable materials.
Non-judgemental safe space
No matter your budget, sexuality, gender, race, all of our clients mean the world to us. Everyone is welcome and we have worked tirelessly to create a comfortable atmosphere for everyone.
It is upsetting to see the rise in homophobia in the New Zealand piercing industry and this is something that we do not tolerate. All people should feel like they are able to get a piercing if they want one no matter the reason, as a proudly gay owned business it is our duty to ensure that we do all we can to make this a non-judgemental space.
Fully Disposable studio
We are a fully disposable studio. This means that instead of reprocessing used items like tapers, receiving tubes etc… we dispose of these items or use methods that make their use unnecessary.
Reprocessing can be done safely and properly, however in New Zealand it is very common for these to be reprocessed in a way that increases risk to both clients and piercers. Being fully disposable allows us the ability to reduce this risk of cross contamination.
If it’s safe to do so we will give you any items that may be useful that were used in the service. Some examples may be tapers, clamps etc…
