Frequently Asked Questions

In recent years there has been a rise in the term implant grade. As the level of client education has grown some lower quality manufacturers have been using these terms.
Implant grade ASTM-F136 titanium is validated by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM).
Lower quality manufacturers tend to use untested "titanium" that they don't know the metal content in.
Our brands that we work with only use titanium that has been independently tested and can provide proof of this. What this means is that we know the exact content of each metal in the alloy.
If you don't know the metal content of the alloy you don't know what you're putting in people's bodies. This could lead to a metal reaction from your skin.
In addition these lower quality manufacturers don't tent to pay attention to the finish of the jewellery meaning that there could be scratches or spiky parts that are damaging the piercing you are trying to heal. Our brands all hand polish their jewellery to ensure it has a mirror finish and is free of any imperfection, giving your new piercing the best chance to heal.

We are a fully disposable studio, meaning that all of the products we use for your service are disposed of afterwards. This means that there is a much smaller risk of cross contamination from not properly reprocessing these items.
Our jewellery is sterilized on at the time of your appointment in a benchtop cassette autoclave.
We use the newest statim autoclave that has the ability to sterilize your jewellery in under ten minutes.
The autoclave is tested everyday to ensure it is able to completely sterilize items. All sterilization cycles all use an integrator strip which shows that your jewellery was run in a complete cycle and this will be shown to you during your appointment.

Using only sterile saline to clean your fresh piercing is crucial for several reasons:
Gentleness: Sterile saline is a mild solution that helps avoid irritation or damage to the healing tissue, unlike alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, which can be too harsh.
Hygiene: Saline is specifically designed to be free from contaminants, reducing the risk of infection during the healing process.
Natural Healing: The saline solution mimics the body's natural fluids, promoting a more comfortable and effective healing environment.
Stick to sterile saline for the best results and to support the healing of your piercing!

Allergies or sensitivity to latex are incredibly common.
In our effort to ensure safety for all clients we do not have any latex products on site and use only nitrile or polyisoprene gloves.
So don't worry if you are allergic to latex, there is no risk of you having contact with latex on site.

Absolutely!
Piercing is such a unique mix of scary and exciting especially for clients that are new to the experience.
We welcome you bringing up to three people with you to your appointment.
One thing we ask is that you only bring one person into the piercing room with you. This is to limit the risk of distraction during the actual piercing process.
-
Generally it is recommended to wait at least a year after being pierced to remove jewellery and leave it out.
This is due to the scar tissue needing to be matured enough to hold open.
