considered
piercing.

Available Monday & Tuesday

What to book Kat for

Some clients come to Kat specifically.

She's not a second option — she's the right choice for certain kinds of appointments. Here's who tends to book her.

01
Your first fine piercing

You've been wearing titanium and you're ready for something considered. Kat takes the time to understand what you're building — not just the piece you're asking for but the ear you're after. No rush.

02
If you're nervous

Piercing anxiety is real and common. Kat's approach is unhurried and calm by nature — not performed patience, just her default register. Clients who've been putting off a piercing for years tend to book her first.

03
Returning after years away

Childhood lobes that closed. Piercings you let go of. Returning to your body after time away. Kat sees a lot of this — the 30- or 40-something who's been quietly thinking about it for a while. It tends to go well.

04
A styled lobe or helix stack

Two or three placements, done together, that look like they belong. Kat takes care with spacing, anatomy, and jewellery selection. This is her most-booked appointment type.

About Kat

Trained to the same standard. A different kind of appointment.

Kat is a specialist piercer trained to the same pharmaceutical-grade clinical standard as the rest of the studio. The sterilisation protocols, the implant-grade jewellery, the anatomy-first approach — it's the same regardless of who you see.

What's distinct about Kat is her pace and her register. She's calm in a particular way — not because she's been told to be, but because that's how she works. Clients notice it. Sessions feel personal rather than procedural.

She's particularly good with clients who are nervous, or who are doing something for the first time and aren't sure quite what they want. She'll figure it out with you.

Kat is also fluent in Taiwanese Mandarin and conversational in Mandarin.

First time?

Here's what a first fine piercing actually looks like.

Most people arrive without knowing exactly what they want. That's normal. The appointment is for figuring it out.

1
The consultation

Kat looks at your ear, your existing piercings if you have them, and talks through what you're thinking. If you've come with a reference, great. If you haven't, that's fine too. Nothing gets marked until you're happy.

2
Jewellery selection

Every appointment includes jewellery. Kat will show you what works for the placement and your anatomy — solid gold implant-grade pieces from a collection designed to be worn for life. There's no pressure to spend more than you want to.

3
The piercing

Single-use sterile equipment. Pharmaceutical-grade aseptic technique. The actual piercing takes about 30 seconds. The rest of the appointment — the conversation, the fitting, the aftercare — takes the other 44 minutes.

4
Aftercare

Kat walks you through exactly what to do. You'll get written instructions with your confirmation. If something looks off during healing, message us — that's included.

"After 4 years of swearing off getting new piercings due to bad experiences, I talked myself into an industrial bar. I had Kat do my piercing and the whole process was next level professional."

Questions

Things people ask before booking.

If something isn't covered here, email us at hello@platinumpoint.nz.

Do I need to know what I want before I come in?

No. Most clients don't. The consultation at the start of the appointment is exactly for this — Kat looks at your anatomy, talks through your aesthetic, and figures it out with you. Coming in with a reference image is helpful but completely optional.

    What's included in the price?

Everything. The consultation, the piercing, and the jewellery are all included in the appointment price. The final cost varies with jewellery selection — "from" prices on the booking page reflect the starting point with our solid gold implant-grade range. There are no hidden charges.

I'm nervous about pain. What should I know?

Ear piercings at this standard are fast — the piercing itself takes about 30 seconds. Kat will talk you through exactly what's happening at each stage, and nothing moves to the next step until you're ready. If you want to mention your anxiety when booking, there's a free-text field — she'll have it before you arrive.

Can I book a styled stack — two or three piercings in one session?

Yes. Styled multi-piercing appointments are one of Kat's most-booked session types. Select the relevant services on the booking page and the system will calculate the combined duration. Kat will plan the full stack during the consultation at the start of your appointment.

    What jewellery do you use?

All jewellery is implant-grade solid gold. We are also Auckland's largest in-stock BVLA studio — Body Vision Los Angeles handcrafted fine gold pieces. Every piece is fitted by a qualified piercer using sterile technique. We don't use titanium, plated metals, or any material we wouldn't put in ourselves.

What if I want a BVLA piece?

Kat works with the full BVLA in-stock collection. For a BVLA-led consultation — where you're selecting a specific high-end piece and want the full advisory session — that's typically a booking with Tom. If you have a BVLA piece in mind and aren't sure who to book, email us first.
