We get this question in different forms from clients across Auckland's eastern and inner suburbs: how far is Parnell from where I am? Short answer — closer than most people expect. Here's where we sit relative to a few of the suburbs we hear from most.
From Remuera
Remuera and Parnell are neighbouring suburbs — for most Remuera addresses it's a five to ten minute drive, and an easy one. A number of our clients are Remuera regulars who treat the trip as no different from a drive to their usual café strip.
From Mission Bay and St Heliers
The drive along Tamaki Drive is one of the nicer commutes in Auckland — waterfront most of the way. At 10 to 20 minutes depending on exactly where you're starting from, it's a genuine option rather than a stretch, particularly for an appointment you've planned ahead for rather than a last-minute decision.
From Ponsonby
Ponsonby sits on the other side of the CBD from Parnell, so the trip depends a little more on traffic — generally 10 to 15 minutes outside peak hours. Clients coming from Ponsonby tend to be specifically after the BVLA selection or the appointment-only model, since Ponsonby has its own piercing options closer to home.
Why the trip is usually worth it
We're not going to claim distance doesn't matter — it does, and if pure convenience is the priority, somewhere closer might make more sense for a simple piercing. But for a genuine choice of fine gold jewellery and an unhurried, appointment-only experience, the extra few minutes from any of these suburbs tends to be a small part of the overall decision once people are at the studio.
Most of the distance questions we get aren't really about the minutes in the car — they're about whether the trip is worth making at all. For BVLA gold and a proper consultation, it generally is.
